Lúcras, 2012.
Solo exhibition for Monster Truck Gallery, Dublin, Ireland.
The act of making representations, whether they be visions of the past through history or views of the future through science fiction, often speaks more of the climate that they were created in, rather than the one that they are thought to portray. In these fictions we see what is longed for, glorified and placed outside our collective present.
With this mind, Lúcras is an exhibition that used a variety of 3 activities as empirical research with which to agitate todays climate. These included playing hurling in small towns in the Irish midlands (handball alley), driving a bog-train and working with bee keepers.
